In continuation of my letter I.D./H/2 of 30th

December, 1922, I have the honour to inform you that

at their meeting of the 20th February, 1923, the

Standing Defence Sub-Committee of the Committee of

Imperial Defence had under consideration the question

of the extension of the naval drydock at Hong Kong

(C.I.D. Papers Nos. 181-C and 185-c).

2.

The Committee agreed that in view of the opinion

expressed by the legal advisers at the Foreign Office,

the extension of the naval drydock at Hong Kong

should not be proceeded with.
